NoXiousNet runs purely off of donations from its users and has done so since it began in 2006. By donating you are helping prolong the life of NoXiousNet and the free services it provides. Gold Member, Diamond Member, and in-game Silver (the virtual currency) are provided as ways for us to give something extra back to generous users.

How to Donate

We strongly suggest you simply use the automatic SteamID getter. If the button doesn't work for some reason (usually if you haven't played recently) then you can use the below method.

Your SteamID looks like this: STEAM_0:1:123456 and can contain a different amount of numbers. To get your SteamID, open the console in a multiplayer game and type the word "status" and press enter. A listing of all the current players will come up along with their ID's. Take the part that looks like STEAM_0:1:123456 and copy it in to the text box above.

If you do not know how to open your console, go in to the main menu of the game and click Options. Click the Keyboard tab at the top. Click on the Advanced... button near the bottom. Make sure Enable developer console (~) is checked and press OK. Press Apply. Press OK. Your console is now enabled and can be opened by pressing the tilde (~) key on your keyboard. This is located right above the TAB key on most US English keyboards. The key used to open your console may vary on keyboards not made for US English.

Once you have entered your SteamID correctly you will get a few choices for what you can get depending on what you already have (Gold Members can't get Gold Member twice). Press the button for what you want and you'll be taken to PayPal's site. Creating an account is quick, painless, and secure. No one receives any of your information except for PayPal. Once you successfully pay with PayPal you should automatically have whatever you requested. Please note that if you are already in-game when you pay then you'll get what you desired by reconnecting or waiting for the map to change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to ever renew a membership?
No, you never have to renew or re-buy. The features will be there forever and will carry over in to any new features pertaining to your member group.

Do members have in-game advantages over non-members?
No, it is our belief that this directly ruins gameplay and game balance. There will NEVER be horrendous game advantages for being a donor such as extra damage, health, or special weapons. There are items only donors can get or have easier access to but these are purely "for looks only". While donating may give you a huge Silver discount, there will never be anything that a member can have that a non-member can't. Memberships just make it easier for you to get things.

I'm already a Gold Member, do I need to give $15 in order to upgrade?
No, you can simply give the difference of $10.

I already donated for Silver before and I want to get Diamond Member, do I need to give $15?
Memberships and Silver are completely different so you have to donate in full for it to go through.

How do I know when my donation went through?
It should be instant. Depending on the game, there should be something on your screen indicating this. In GMod, the NoXiousNet account information box on the top left will say Gold Member, Diamond Member, and how much Silver you have. After you donate you should also get a message saying that it was successful. Please note that E-checks and other charges that take time to go through will take effect as soon as the check has been cleared.

Can I transfer memberships to another account?
Yes, you can transfer between different accounts. In order to do this you need to provide proof that you really own both accounts. Just e-mail jetboom@yahoo.com with the following information: your old account's SteamID, your new account's SteamID, and the e-mail address used to donate (most likely your PayPal account name).

What is the clique build server?
It is a SandBox server where only people with building rights can build together. There is non-builder, trial builder, builder, and variants of builder. Builders can spawn and do anything except use admin features. Trial builders can do the same thing except there is a 2 second delay before they can spawn things in order to stop spam. Non-builders can not do anything at all - not even noclip. They can only walk around, press buttons, and interact with already-made things. The variants of Builder simply have higher limits. All changes to builder level are recorded and referenced. We do this to make an environment where people can build in peace without having to use a password and to also attract potential builders.

Do I need to donate to get building rights?
No, all people are capable of becoming builders and above. New players without any past infractions are given at least trial builder if they ask and can easily become builders within 10 minutes after that.

Do memberships really make you ban-immune?
To a reasonable extent. You are not immune to bans caused by things like if you are caught attempting to crash a server. In general you should not have to even worry about this unless your only reason to donating is to harass the servers.

What kind of voting does the voting power bonus apply to and how does it work?
Your voting power is determined by how well you do in the game, usually by your score. Gold Members get an extra 50% bonus to this amount and Diamond Members get an extra 75% bonus. So if you scored 100 points in a game, you would get 100 votes. If you were a Diamond Member then you would get 175 votes.

How exactly do reserved slots work?
Every server has an extra slot that is for the most part always open. If a Diamond Member joins this slot, the game will automatically kick out the player that has been connected for the least amount of time. If a Gold Member or a non-member joins this slot, they are kicked. Gold Members are always considered to be connected longer than guests though.

I am currently banned for X reason, can I donate to get unbanned?
No.

Can I donate to be an admin?
No.

Does donating improve my chances to be an admin?
Not really.

What if I issue a reversal or claim unauthorized charges?
If you somehow get a refund without our authorization (such as committing credit card fraud or reversals) then you'll get permanently banned from all services.

Can I donate in some other way such as check, mail, or bank transfer?
No, you can only use PayPal. If you have ideas for other means of money transfer that is similar to PayPal, send me a line at jetboom@yahoo.com!

If NoXiousNet ever hosts other games or services, will Gold and Diamond carry over?
If in the future NoXiousNet offers any more services such as hosting game servers for a different game: yes, you'll automatically get whatever bonuses are created. Gold Member and Diamond Member carry across all services.

Does ban immunity count for the forums?
No, the forums are entirely separate.

Can donors change their own title?
No, all members have access to the specialized titles acquired by achieving different things in the game (awards and such) but donators get access to special titles and also have their Steam avatar displayed in chat. The ability to set your own unique title was removed in favor of only letting administrators set unique titles.
